JV Baseball takes on Carlisle

The Tigers JV baseball team beat an aggressive JV Carlisle team at Carlisle’s home turf Monday, 21-8. All members of the team, who travelled, played, and all contributed to the victory.

Through the yawning monotony of a combined 31 walks in three innings, there were some significant achievements. Team Captain A.J. Fuller caught all 95 pitches from Hargrave hurlers with cool aplomb, despite the heat and the long innings; Xavier Ehrhardt pitched well through two innings, pushing the count to two strikes on nearly every batter he faced. He struck out three for the win. Carson Perrow came on in relief, also pitching well, striking out four. Perrow contributed to the win offensively with a single and double.

Despite the extravagant Hargrave run total, the Carlisle nine put up a spirited resistance to the end, scoring in their final at-bat. It was a good lesson in grit and spirit, which our boys should heed well as they move to their next contest with the tough JV nine of Life Christian Academy in distant Richmond on April 28.
