The Hargrave boys struck early with fantastic infield play by Gabriel Bashford backing up the pitching of Cadet Tyner and took an early 1-0 lead after the first inning. Dan River came storming back in the second to go up 1-6 on the Tigers. It was not until the fifth inning, lead by the pitching of Andrew Palmer and the entire line-up of bats, that Hargave began to see production once again. The Tigers scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth bringing the score to 6-7. Palmer pitched the Tigers out of the sixth inning with some help from his field, unfortunately Hargrave fell short on its rally finishing the game 6-7. Dan River is a very good baseball program and it is exciting to have our young men competing so effectively this early in the season.
