JV Basketball Defeats Chatham High School

The Tigers played their most exciting game of the year, and beat local rival Chatham High School, by a score of 49-45. The Tigers got down big in the first half being down by as many as 15 points at one point, but made a little run right before half time and narrowed the the gap to 17 – 27.

The Tigers then had a fantastic third quarter, outscoring Chatham by a 20 to 5 margin, and gained the lead going into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter saw a lot of exciting back and forth with HMA getting behind again only to make a clutch comeback in the final minute pulling ahead with 45 seconds to go and finishing with some clutch free throws to seal the victory.

High scorer for the game was Cory Wood with 18 points and the rest of the scoring was divided between seven other members of the team.
