The JV Basketball team traveled to Westover Christian for our first game of the season, November 18, 2014. After a slow, albeit nervous start, the team really found their groove in the second quarter. They trailed after the first quarter 7-5 but outscored Westover in the second quarter 14-6 to take a 19-13 lead into halftime. The Hargrave defense really picked up the pace in the second half as Hargrave limited Westover to just 7 second half points to come away with a 37-20 victory.
Cadets Edwards and Jacobs led the Tigers in scoring with ten points each, while Cadet Posley chipped in with eight. Cadets Inge, Wall and Caviness were solid on the defensive end. Each recorded several steals and created multiple opportunities to score on the fast-break. The JV squad will take to the road after the break for a game at New Covenant on Dec. 4.
