The JV football team had a great effort against Fishburne Military School. The Cadets had a lot of fun, played a great game and came out with a victory. Coach Wickboldt called a great game offensively and “Coach” Trey Barnes called all the right blitzes to hold Fishburne.
Defensively, we had a strong showing. We held their offense in check with Cadets Brian Williams and Mark Billups forcing fumbles. Cadet Adam Saliu scooped up both fumbles to take back for touchdowns. Cadets Christian Clark and Rory Gamble also recovered fumbles for our defense.
Offensively, Billups threw a touchdown pass and caught and ran for another. Williams had two great catches and runs for touchdowns. Cadet Thomas Drakeford caught a hitch, broke a tackle and took it to the house. Cadet Cody Laviolette threw three touchdown passes.
There were a lot of unsung heroes making tackles and blocks in the game that do not show up in the box score. All of the guys on the field played a great game. Please congratulate these young men on a great game played.
We were pleased to see many Cadets come out to support their fellow students. Dr. Jim Tung came out and got some great pictures of the action.
