JV Game vs. Westover ends in a draw

Coach Luke Davis

It had been exactly a month since the JV team had a game, so the guys were very excited to get on the field.  We ended up tying Westover Christian by a score of 7-7. The Tigers were a little rusty which I expected after the long layoff.  We played well, but walked too many batters.  All 7 runs that WCA posted, were walked to get on base.  We only had one error in the game which is by far the best defensive game we played this year.

The Tigers started out very strong.  We retired WCA in order in the top of the first, and exploded for 4 runs in the bottom of the inning.  WCA then took advantage of walks, and scored in each of the next three innings going up by a score of 6-4. We scored in the bottom of the fourth to pull within one, but WCA scored another in the 5th. Heading into the bottom of the 6th down by 2, the Tigers rallied and scored 2 runs to tie it. Unfortunately, with a man on second and third with one out, we were unable to score another run.

The Tigers were led by Austin Samson 3-4 with 3 runs scored, Xavier Conrad was 4-4 with 2 runs and 2 rbi’s, and Ryan Sherman who was 3 for 4 with a triple, one run scored and 4 rbi’s.
