JV Soccer Cannot Overcome Slow Start

The Tigers suffered a second loss of the season on September 15, 2011 against Holy Cross with a score of 1-4.

The Gaels took the lead early in the first half due to two defensive errors by Hargrave. However, the Tigers did not give up and continued to press their opponent, but were unable to find the goal despite the numerous shots. The only goal for Hargrave came late at the end of the fisrt half off the cleat of Moses Ng, who scored with a swift breakaway that beat the defense on an amazing shot.

The second half developed quite evenly for both teams in terms of ball possession and opportunities for goals, and the TIgers had some amazing plays like a spectacular shot taken by Chase Cooper and the great defensive performance by Ghassan Khan and the numerous saves by keeper Blake Horne, but the Tigers were unable to capitalize on their continued pressure on Holy Cross. Unfortunately, the Gaels took advantage of two quick breakaways to add two more goals to their count and sealed their victory.
