JV Soccer triumphs over VES

Coach William Eberly

The JV Soccer team continued to show improvement on its season defeating Virginia Episcopal School (VES) 2-1. We played VES to a 1-1 tie a couple weeks ago in a hard fought game. Yesterday the Tigers got on the scoreboard first with an early goal by Cadet Torrey and the assist by Cadet Alshinibr. Hargrave scored another goal by Cadet Alshinibr assisted by Cadet Osunkoya in the beginning of the second half to put the score at 2-0.

As the second half was winding down VES pushed forward with some very heavy offense and dominated the time of possession and putting a point on the board with 15 minutes left to make it a 2-1 game. As time ticked away VES had multiple opportunities to score but Cadet Yoon had save after save after save. Yoon had an amazing diving save on a penalty kick late in the game to secure the victory. The Cadets were ecstatic coming off the field as this was a very good VES Team. We look forward to riding this momentum to a victory tomorrow night at home in our final game of the season.
