Hargrave 2 – Carlisle 1
The JV Tigers came out a little sluggish for their initial debut at home against the Carlisle Chiefs. And Carlisle came out with their game faces on and scored first. This brought the JV Tigers back together and they scored with about 8 minutes left in the half with a lob kick by Jay Suthard. The JV Tigers performed superbly on both offense and defense with a total of 12 shots on goal from our offense led by Jay Suthard (2 goals; 5 shots on goal), Blake Nolan (2 shots on goal), Asa Dowdy (1 shot on goal), John Webb (1 shot on goal), Cody Madden, Spencer King (2 shots on goal), and John Mauger (1 shot on goal and 1 assist), and defensively Daniel Jonus had 9 saves including a penalty kick as goalie but our defenders led by Aidan White kept the ball away throughout the second half. Our defenders included every other member of the team including some tough competitiveness from our younger players including Tanner Rose and Parker Holt. Jay Suthard scored the second goal for the Tigers resulting in a 2-1 visctory. That leaves our record at 2 -1 with our next match away against Sacred Heart next Tuesday. I am very proud of the team effort by these young men. Each one played with a passion for the game. I hope you are!
