Hargrave 2 – VES 1
The Tigers hosted the Bishops of Virginia Episcopal during their second match-up of the season. As in their first match, both teams were very cautious of each other. As the game developed, the Tigers gained confidence and set the tone of the game by controlling the ball and setting the pace. By halftime the score was 0-0. Finally, during the second period, the Tigers opened the score off the cleats of forward Mansour Azzaz with the assist of Dwayne Aderemi. A few minutes later, left wing Eric Park took a long powerful kick that beat the Bishops’ keeper and gave Hargrave a lead of 2-0. The Bishops, for their part, kept pressing on and in one of their advances a foul on our part gave them the opportunity to add a goal to their count via penalty kick and set the final score of the game of 2-1. Hargrave’s record now is 2-4.
