Hargrave 6 – WCA 2
The Tigers had their first victory against Westover Christian by score of 6-2.
Reeves Hollar scored his first goal of the game off a pass from Mark Barber in the rectangle on minute 15 of the first half. Garret Jennings would score his first goal of the season kicking a loose ball after a corner kick. The first half finished with a score of 2-0.
The Tigers came back to the second half eager to increase the difference and again Reeves Hollar found Westover’s net with the assist of Allan Shurtleff. Westover reacted and scored their first goal on minute 15.
Two minutes later the Tigers reacted with Hollar, who after recovering a ball by the midfield, turned back and brought it all the way to the net to score his third goal of the afternoon. Hollar would come back again and score his fourth goal off a corner kick from Heath Light on minute 19.
The final goal of the Tigers started off the cleats of Allan Shurtleff with a precise pass to Travis Shelton in the small area, who closed the actions for the Tigers scoring our sixth goal of the afternoon.
Westover made continuous attempts throughout the game to reach or goal, but our defensive team kept them at bay. A foul in the small area granted Westover a penalty kick, which resulted in their second and final goal of the game.
Reeves Hollar leads the charts with five goals in two games.
