Hargrave 4 – WCA 0
The Tigers came back to the field with a win over Westover Christian. Hargrave opened the score early in the first period with only three minutes of game play, when Garrett Jennings (2G, 1A) netted his shot after a pass of the cleats of Travis Shelton (1G, 1A). As the game developed the Tigers gained more confidence and kept the pressure on Westover’s defense until Garrett Jennings scored his second goal of the afternoon with a left shot, after a precise pass from Mark Barber.
HMA would score a third goal with eight minutes left to play of the first half. In this opportunity, Garrett Jennings made the assist with a pass from outside the rectangle to Travis Shelton, who completed the actions and set the score 3-0.
During the second half, the Tigers pressured on Westover’s defense without being able to capitalize on their attempts for most of the period, until Heath Light, with a self-pass was able to dribble two defenders and make a perfect slow shot toward the far post, setting the final score 4-0.
