Hargrave 9 – Westover 3
The JV soccer Tigers defeated Westover with score of 9-3.
The HMA Tigers found themselves down in the score early in the first period after an exceptional inswinging corner kick taken by Westover’s striker. The Tigers’ reaction did not take long and scored six goals during the first half. Ben Oliver opened the score for Hargrave after a quick and surprising breakaway. Minutes later, Patrick George took a rebound off the goalie and passed the ball to Harrison Williams for the second goal.
Hargrave had assumed total control of the ball and was playing with ease.
John David Hubbard assisted Ben Mills for the third goal. Center mid Patrick George kept making great passes to the open spaces to find Ben Oliver for the fourth goal.
Minutes later, Ben Mills intercepted a pass and with a quick return brought a fifth goal for Hargrave. Westover scored their second minutes before the halftime whistle.
The Tigers scored three more goals on the second period off the cleats of Ben Oliver and Ben Mills.
Westover took advantage of a rebound off goalie Jin and added their third and last goal of the match.
A defensive error by Westover granted Hargrave their ninth goal.
The JV soccer Tigers remain undefeated after six matches.
