Comments:
The JV Tennis team traveled down to Hester Park in Greensboro, NC to take on ORMA’s Tennis team. Matt Dodson and Dan Adamson put up wins in their competitive tennis debuts. The players struggled with first-match nerves. With the exception of Dodson and Adamson, the singles matches allowed themselves to fall into 0-4 and 1-4 holes before they made adjustments. With adjustments, despite the lopsided final match scores, Hargrave players started to prolong and take games, but the holes turned out to be too deep. Against ORMA, competitors had finished team play in alittle more than an hour; the HMA match finished up closer to the 2 hour mark.
At the end of the singles matches, the score was ORMA 3 and Hargrave 2. With the weather cooling off and darkness falling, ORMA’s experience started to show. Despite adjustments in strategy, both doubles teams fell.
The JV Tennis Tigers are 0-1 (0-0 VIC) for the season. The next match is at VES on April 10 at 4 pm.
