Lacrosse Beats Benedictine

Matt Brawn

The varsity lacrosse team made the trek to Richmond, VA for a VISAA / Patriot League match-up against the cadets of Benedictine. The Tigers played a well-balanced game and controlled the pace and course throughout the day. After taking an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter, the Tigers were able to gain more separation on the scoreboard by halftime leading 4-0.

Benedictine found the first of their two goals midway through the third quarter of play as they capitalized on a fast-break opportunity. The Tigers answered back with a pair of goals creating a 6 – 1 cushion for the Tigers as they entered the final segment of play. The cadets of Benedictine found their final goal of the game early in the 4th quarter. Undeterred by this, the Tigers answered the call and found the back of the net three more times and solidified the victory for the Tigers.
With the win, the Tigers move to 3-3 overall and hold on to the #1 spot in the Patriot League.

Strong in-game performances on the day were senior Connor Rogers with 3 Goals and 2 assists, senior Nick Duran with 2 goals and 2 assists, eighth graderAlex Wilson with 2 goals, and eighth grader Quinn Acree found the net once and figured in on an assist. LSM Graham Kelly had a strong defensive performance and tallied an assist as well.
