The Tigers squared off against the Spartans of Steward Friday night under the lights of Dick Dyer Field. Much of the first quarter was a dead draw between both teams as neither team found the net. At about midway through the Spartans converted a man-up power play to break the stalemate. The Spartan lead was short-lived as the Tigers responded a few moments later to make the game even. Hargrave found the back of the goal four more times to take the lead. With the lead in hand, the Tigers kept their foot on the gas and entered half time with a 8-1 advantage. Down but not out, the Spartans outplayed the Tigers in the late stages of the third quarter and out scored the Tigers 4 to 2. With a 10-5  advantage entering the final stanza of play, the Tigers played sound team defense denying several scoring opportunities for the Spartans and converting forced turnovers into scoring opportunities helping the Tigers pick up their first victory of the season 14-6.

Standout performances of the night where found at both ends of the field. On offense, attacker Nick Duran recorded 6 goals and 3 assist; midfielder Connor Rogers had 4 goals and 6 assists on the evening; defenders Jake Bledsoe and Chad Demarest recorded 6 ground balls each; and long stick midfielder Graham Kelly captured 4 ground balls. Defensive anchor Caleb Rogers recorded 3 ground balls and a takeaway along with a strong command of the defense throughout the night. Goaltender Jackson Reeder recorded 15 saves on the evening. However, the key moment for the Tigers was found in the first half of play as senior midfielder Patrick Lord scored his first varsity goal for Hargrave.
