In a game that was tight from start to finish, Hargrave was able to prevail over the Gaels with a late goal. Chris Czarnecki went unassisted to score his fourth goal of the year in the 70th minute and secure the Tigers’ first VIC victory for the 2014 season.
Hargrave was on the attack all game, creating great opportunities and out-shooting the Gaels 25-12. Defensively, the entire unit held together and came through huge to preserve the one goal lead in the final minutes.
Nick Rice (2 saves) and Patrick Franzoni (4 saves) combined to record the Tigers’ first clean sheet of the season in goal.
The win moves Hargrave to 3-2 on the season, and 1-1 in VIC play.
Hargrave will return home on Monday September 15th to take on Lynchburg Homeschool. The kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 at Simpson Parade Field.
