Hargrave Military Academy continues to strengthen its athletics program with the addition of Levi Englman as Head Wrestling Coach, effective July 20, 2026. A Virginia native, Englman brings a wealth of experience as both an accomplished wrestler and collegiate coach. His background spans collegiate athletics, youth development, and national-level coaching, making him an outstanding addition to Hargrave’s commitment to excellence on and off the mat.
Englman spent more than seven years coaching with Powerhouse Wrestling in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he mentored wrestlers of all ages, emphasizing technical development, discipline, leadership, and character. He has also represented the Commonwealth as a Virginia National Team Coach at the USA Wrestling Fargo Nationals and has coached at national-level club competitions.
As a competitor, Englman enjoyed an outstanding wrestling career at Ferrum College, earning NCAA All-American honors twice after capturing two Virginia State Championships and two NHSCA All-American selections during his high school career. He recorded more than 100 career victories at both the high school and collegiate levels before earning his Bachelor of Science in Recreation Leadership and Management from Ferrum.
“We are excited to welcome Levi to Hargrave,” said Sloan Gibson, President of Hargrave Military Academy. “Levi embodies the values we strive to instill in our cadets: discipline, integrity, perseverance, and servant leadership. We believe he will make an outstanding addition to our community.”
Athletic Director Patrick Henry believes Englman is well-positioned to continue the tradition of success within Hargrave athletics. “Throughout the hiring process, Levi distinguished himself with his enthusiasm, authenticity, and vision for developing young men through the sport of wrestling. We are excited to welcome him to our coaching staff.” Henry said.
Englman is eager to begin leading the Tigers wrestling program and investing in the lives of Hargrave cadets.
“It is an incredible honor to be named as Head Wrestling Coach,” said Englman. “I’m excited to be a part of Hargrave’s tradition and develop young men of character, leadership, and excellence.”
