Middle School Basketball Loses Hard Fought Battle with North Cross

Scott Roach

The middle school basketball team lost a hard fought contest last night to the very scrappy and disciplined North Cross Raiders team by a score of 43-39.

After trailing by 11 after the first quarter, the young Tigers were able to get back into the game by winning two of the next three quarters. However, it was not enough to overcome the tremendous amount of turnovers (28) and missed opportunities in the paint.

The Tigers were led by I. Ezuma (12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks), P. Atuonwu (11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals), and David Hubbard (8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals).

With the loss, the young Tigers’ record falls to 6-2 on the year. The middle school team will return to the hardwoods on Saturday, January 28th, when they will have rematch with the Chiefs of Carlisle School. Tip off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
