Hargrave Cadet Ryan Moody signed his national letter of intent to play for Bluefield College for the 2011 academic year. Bluefield College is a Division I affiliate of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) organization. Moody will be under the tutelage of PGA Professional Aaron Summers, who holds course records at four courses in Virginia and North Carolina, and who recently shot a final round of 60 to win a professional event in Greensboro, North Carlina in May 2010.
“Ryan grew so much as a golfer between last year and this year,” said Coach Paul Wanex of the Hargrave varsity golf team. “It is an exciting time for him as he looks to take his game to the next level under the guidance of Coach Summers. I wish him all the best.”
Moody was named Hargrave’s Most Valuable Player – Golf for 2011 at Hargrave.
Moody’s scholarship offer includes $6,500 for his first semester at Bluefield College. He is the son of Vern Moody and Sundi Canada-Moody of Raleigh, North Carolina.
