Multiple runners left on base stops Hargrave

Coach Luke Davis
The Tigers dropped a tough one to Carlisle by a score of 11-3. The guys played hard and we had a good effort from the entire team. The story of the game was leaving runners on base. We left 9 men on base and 7 of them were in scoring position. We also had a few errors in the field that led to runs for the opposition.

Cadet Seth Collins started on the mound and struggled a little bit with his control out of the gate by walking the first two batters. After that he settled in and found his groove. He gave up two hits and struck out one in his two innings of work. After Seth, Cadet Austin Samson came in and pitched 3 good innings.  He made some of the Carlisle batters look silly by mixing in his curve ball and knuckle ball with a good fastball. Austin struck out 7 over 3 innings of work giving up 6 hits in the process.
On the offensive end, we got a lot of hits, but stranded runners in every inning.  We took the free passes (walks) that the opposition gave us, but failed to get the clutch hits.  The offense was led by Samson, who went 3 for 3, with a triple, a walk, and a run scored.
