National Recognition Rolling in for the Tigers!

As the Hargrave Post Graduate Basketball program wrapped up their 2022-23 campaign which included a 44-2 overall record, the national media took another opportunity to laud the Tigers for the accomplishments on the court and on the sideline during this past season!

Next Up Recruits, who provided outstanding coverage for the 2022-23 postgraduate basketball landscape, recently announced their All-American teams as well as the National Coach of Year and Regional Coaches of the Year. Hargrave’s storied Postgraduate Basketball program found themselves squarely in the spotlight again as numerous players garnered All-American nods as well as Head Coach, Thomas Messinger, taking home the hardware as the National Coach of the Year!

Next Up Recruits National Coach of the Year

Thomas Messinger earned National Coach of the Year honors as he guided the Tigers to a 44-2 overall record this year along with winning the Elite Prep League Regular Season Championship as well as the Elite Prep League Tournament Championship in addition to securing titles in the Fork Union Christmas Tournament and the First Piedmont Corp. Invitational. Messinger helped this already illustrious program soar to new heights in his third year at the helm as Hargrave was afforded the opportunity to compete in famed venues such as Cameron Indoor Stadium and the Dean E. Smith Center during this past season. Currently, Messinger sits with a winning percentage of .934 and an overall record of 114-8 over the past three seasons.
