The running Tigers were thrown into a crucible of fire. With only three days of practice the team faced their first challenge last Wednesday at the Southside Jamboree. The new look program now features approximately 20 cadet-athletes which is a 500% increase from last season!
Hargrave had nine runners participate in the open 3K Race. Jake Bradley earned a Medal by placing third overall in the race, with a time of 12:25. Other runners were Carson Barrett 14:14, Jack Pittman 15:55, Luke Johnson 16:15, Dylan Herrera 16:39, Spencer Mullen 16:59, Bradon Eastman 18:54, Louis Chole 20:19, Daniel Souza 20:50, and Zachary Zvarych 22: 32.
The Tigers placed sixth out of seven teams. The local public schools have been running all summer. The team will gauge their progress when they see the same teams at the All-Metro Meet next month.
The Cross Country team will be back in action Thursday at the Bengal Clash at the River (Martinsville Va.).
