The Tigers fell short of extending their winning streak on thursday as they dropped a conference matchup against the Red Raiders of North Cross 4-9. The game was evenly matched, but the Tigers struggled to find a rhythm on offense.
Cadet Stephen Chain opened the scoring for the Tigers with a setup pass from midfielder Cadet Mitchell Baker midway through the first period of play. Cadet Steele Burkett would convert a Chain pass in to a goal for the Tigers second goal of the day late in the second period. At the end of one half of play the Raiders lead 5-2. The third period of play would see a quick goal by attackmen Cadet Michael Sullivan off a feeding pass by Burkett. In the closing minutes of the third period the tigers would receive their final goal of the day off a feed from Cadet Walker Thompson to Burkett.
On the defensive side of the ball Defender Cadet Russell Ferguson had a strong showing recovering five ground balls and making several key clearing plays. Chain, a Midfielder, showed great work ethic and heart as he recovered seven ground balls and recorded an assist and a goal on the day. Goaltender Cadet Adrian Roman was a strong force in between the pipes as he turned away 12 of 21 shots.
With the loss the tigers drop to 5-4 for the season but will look to tally another win against The Miller School Tuesday 4/30.
