Varsity Wrestling Takes Second at Rustburg Invitational

While facing some tough competition, the Tigers went 6-1 in the tournament and finished 2nd overall. The only loss of the weekend came against LCA.
Tigers Win Eight Team Tiger Invitational

The Hargrave Wrestling team opened their season this weekend with a very successful effort at the Tiger Invitational. Hargrave finished 1st out of eight teams with an impressive 161 team points.

The Tigers traveled to LCA to compete in the Bulldog Invitational against 22 other teams. The Tigers finished 8th in the team standings and had four wrestlers place individually.
Varsity Wrestling vs. Rustburg Invitational

The Hargrave wrestlers travelled to Rustburg Friday for a 2 day tournament. We were in 3rd place going into the last round of competition Saturday. We just missed 3rd and came away from the tournament with 4th out of 10 teams. All of the wrestlers gained valuable experience, wrestling 9 times each. 7 of the 12 wrestlers competing placed in the top 3 for their weight class. Competing for Hargrave were:

The Tigers opened the season with a 6th place overall finish in the Tiger Invitational. Wrestling for the Tigers were- 103 Hepting, J (1st), 112 Spears, S, 125 Hieny (1st), 130 Hepting, S (1st), 135 Hardin, 140 Arnold, 145 Mulbah, 152 Johnson, W (4th), 160 Hobbs, 171 Siljander, 189 Hancock, J, 215 Adelman, and 285 Patrick.

The Tigers finished in 12th place in the VISAA state wrestling championships over the weekend. The following wrestlers competed for Hargrave: 112 Seth Spears, 119 Adam Radan, 125 Patrick Kelley, 130 Afsheen Robinson, 135 Andrew Heiny, 140 Chris Arnold, 145 John Nelson, 152 Preston Tanner, 160 Klaeton Davis, 171 Bert Dye and 215 William Holton. Four Tiger wrestlers made the all-state team: 125 Patrick Kelley 3rd place, 119 Adam Radan 4th place, 130 Afsheen Robinson 6th place and 152 Preston Tanner 8th place.

The Tigers competed in the VIC tournament on Saturday at VES. The team came together with a total team effort and pulled off their 5th consecutive VIC championship.
