The Hargrave Post Graduate Football team traveled to Buckhannon, WV to face the homestanding Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan College this past monday. The P.G. Tigers came away with a 30-28 victory over the Division 2 institution.
Th P.G. offense struck first as James Whitfield caught his first of 2 TD passes on the day in the back corner of the endzone. Eric Lauderdale also grabbed a TD pass, as he took and short completion and turned it into a 50 yard catch and run for a touchdown. Andre Hunt added a rushing touchdown to end the scoring for the Tigers. The offensive line provided great push on the day.
The P.G. Defense blocked a punt, when Devonte Jones split to defenders for the block and recovered for the visiting team. Christian Russell had another good day at middle linebacker coming away with 6 tackels. Dawud Hicks had to pass breakups, and the defensive line provided pressure and forced 2 sacks on the day.
The Post Graduate team will look to build from the win, and improve from thier mistakes as they get back to practice this week. The Tigers next oppenent will be in Alliance, OH against Mount Union College on Monday, October 3rd at 4p.m.
