Post Graduate Football Team loses tough game in Ohio

The Post Graduate Football team traveled to Alliance, OH to play perennial powerhouse Mount Union College. The Team was able to visit the campus of Akron University as well as tour the campus at Mount Union during the trip. On a cold and rainy day, the P.G. Tigers fell to the Purple Raiders 37-9.

The offense was led by their rushing attack. As Irving Huggins, Tyree Massey, Nigel Rainbow, and Andre Hunt all got carries to spearhead the offense on a rainy Monday afternoon in northern Ohio. Eric Lauderdale had a nice game at wide reciever recording 3 catches from 85 yards, including 45 yard catch right before halftime. Storm Baker provided the points for the day as the kicker was 3-3 on day, and held a 40 yard avg. on his punts for the day.

Defensively, the Tigers held Mount Union from making any big plays on the day. The also came away with 3 turnovers on the day as well as a blocked field goal. Devonte Jones sparked the defense as he recorded an interception and forced a fumbled as he sack the Mount Union quarterback. The defensive line provided pressure on the offensive line of Mount Union, led by defensive ends Miles Grooms & Will Womack. Grooms recorded 4 tackles on the day, as Womack recorded 5.

Hargrave P.G. Football Team returned home after the game to prepare for their trip to Loretto, PA to take on the “Red Flash” of St. Francis University. The game will take place on Monday, October 10th at 1:30 p.m.
