The Post Graduate Football Team traveled to the state of Pennsylvania for the second time this year and came away with another win. The Tigers defeated the home standing “Red Flash” of St. Francis University by the score of 41-40 in overtime.
A balanced rushing attack led by Irving Huggins and Nigel Rainbow led the way for the Hargrave offense. The ground game provided the balance that allowed Quarterbacks Jason Stewart and Trevor Vasey to combine for 6 passing touchdowns on the day. James Whitfield was on the receiving on 2 of the touchdown throws. De’Andre Scott, Tre Metoyer, Eric Lauderdale, and Wesley Marsh each had 1 touchdown apiece. Tight End Wesley Marsh’s was the game winning grab in overtime.
The P.G. Defensive held strong throughout the day. The Defensive line once again provided a good push up front. Led by defensive lineman Kevin Dodd who accounted for 5 tackles, including 1 TFL. Linebacker Dawud Hicks came away with a Interception, and Defensive Back Tyrus Lawson had 3 tackles and 1 forced fumble. Pennsylvania native Jeremy Irving made the most of his trip back home accounting for 3 tackles and 1 fumble recovery.
The P.G. Tigers look for the chance to continuing there winning ways as they travel to Kentucky this weekend. The P.G. Tigers will be taking on the Bears of Pikeville College on Monday, Oct. 17th at 3:30p.m.
