The rifle team returns from a great experience but another loss. Our young men had the opportunity to shoot at the Virginia Military Institute. VMI is a Military College in nearby Lexington, Virginia. The young men were given a chance to shoot at a state of the art facility, in a new environment, and face some really good opponents.
I saw this as a chance for our shooters to step outside of their comfort zone and still perform to the best of their ability. As a team we remained consistent, with a solid 936. However, the other two teams tied with an impressive 985. We left beaten, but not defeated, and the young men grew as athletes and as men of character and poise. We even got to see a few HMA alums who are currently attending VMI!!
