Following a nationwide search, Hargrave is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron Beverly as the Academy’s new Chaplain. Ron brings with him a lifelong commitment to Christian ministry and mentorship, along with a deep passion for Hargrave’s mission of developing young men in the areas of Academics, Character, Faith, and Athletics. Ron will officially begin his role on June 25.
Ron holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries with an emphasis in Youth Ministry from Liberty University. His ministry journey began during his years at Liberty University, where he served in residential life leadership roles and developed a heart for guiding and discipling young people.
Over the years, Ron has remained deeply involved in church and community ministry, serving in youth ministry, men’s ministry, discipleship groups, and mentorship programs. He has worked closely with students, families, and church communities to foster spiritual growth, encouragement, and leadership rooted in Christian values.
In addition to his ministry background, Ron brings decades of professional leadership experience as a successful business owner in the Lynchburg area. His experience in organizational leadership, team development, and relationship-building further strengthens his ability to connect with and lead within the Hargrave community.
“Ron’s heart for ministry, mentorship, and servant leadership aligns beautifully with Hargrave’s mission and values,” said President Sloan Gibson. “His passion for investing in young people and helping them grow spiritually and personally will make a meaningful impact on our cadets and campus community.”
Ron has expressed a sincere passion for Hargrave and its mission. He believes strongly in building authentic relationships with cadets and fostering a campus culture that is grounded in Christian character and spiritual growth.
