In their second night of back-to-back games, the Tigers came out slow and sluggish to start the contest, registering only 2 points as a team by the end of the first.
Needing a spark, Gabe Powers and Rory Gamble came into the game to ignite the Tigers defense and inspire the rest to match their intensity. Their defensive pressure, hustle, and effort caused turnovers that led to easy scores that helped the Tigers explode for a 22 point second quarter.
After that, the Tigers never looked back as they extended their win streak to 7 games as they defeated Steward School 58-36. The Tigers were led in scoring by Caleb Gibbons (22 points) and Nathan Kania (11 points).
Luis Rodriguez was truly “Chairman of the Boards” tonight, securing offensive and defensive rebounds while protecting the paint. Offensively he was focused, finishing the game with 13 points and putting together one of his best all around performances all season.
The JV Tigers will be back in action Friday, February 10th as they travel to play Covenant School.
