The Hargrave Tigers took on the Clover Garden Soccer Team at Westover Christian Academy on Friday afternoon for the opening round of the WCA Invitational. The weekend would bring many successes as a soccer team.
Clover Garden came out and gave the defensive side a run for their money, capitalizing on every opportunity for free kicks. All of Clover Garden’s goals on Creed Hall were off set pieces, or immediately following. Halftime came around, and the Tigers were down 2-1.
After halftime adjustments, the Tigers came out and began to truly work together as a unit offensively and defensively. The culmination of the game was a free kick that led to Tyler Fallen burying the ball in the upper-90 bringing the team over the top of Clover Garden, 4-3.
Exceptional performers this game were the following: Seth Donaldson, Tyler Fallen, Daniel Kim, and Nick Summers, each with goals. As well as Hall with 9 saves on the day.
