The Hargrave Tigers competed against New Covenant during a four team meet in their season opener and emerged victorious to open their 2019-2020 season.
The other two teams that competed, Fuqua School and Chatham Hall, were both co-ed teams. Hargrave scored 524 points in the victory, with New Covenant scoring 207 and Fuqua following with 108 points. The Tigers worked hard as a team and individually, knocking a bit of the rust off in the meantime as this was there first meet under Coach Amanda Weishaar. “We had two goals today,” Weishaar stated, “to work and support each other as a team and to have fun! Both returning swimmers and newcomers had an outstanding showing for our first meet!”

Numerous other members of the swim team were near State Qualifiers as well.
The Tigers are back in action Wednesday afternoon as they head to Roanoke, Virginia for a meet against Roanoke Catholic.
