Team Effort Pushes Hargrave Past Grove Prep

The Hargrave Tigers had meaningful contributions up and down the roster in a big 121-89 win on Wednesday against Grove Prep of Georgia. Hargrave featured 8 players that scored at least 9 points in a game that saw the Tigers eclipse the 120 point plateau for the 4th time in the young season.

The Tigers were fueled by Justin Brown, who scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the first half, to go along with 6 first-half steals. Brown scored his 21 points on just 9 field goal attempts, contributing to a 52% shooting effort by the team overall. Braxton Beverly continued his strong play, flirting with a triple-double with 12 points, 8 assists and a team-high 7 steals. Naji Marshall matched his team-leading season average with 9 rebounds while scoring 9 points himself.

With the win, the Tigers’ record now stands at 13-0 and pushed their home win streak to 62 games, with their overall win streak stretching out to 43 games. The Tigers will be back in action Friday December 8th as they travel to Fork Union Military Academy for their annual Holiday Invitational. The Tigers will take on Spire Institute at 6:00pm, with a championship or consolation game to follow on Saturday.
