The Tigers tied their season opener against Westover Christian

Westover Christian came out strong during the first half and dominated most of the action in the initial minutes. They kept advancing and managed to take some shots on goal, but keeper Nick Foster guarded the Tigers’s goal fiercely. Foster had a total of seven saves throughout the game. The Tigers’s defense had an exemplary performance led by team captain Caleb Wood, who was assisted by Turner Wall and Ryan Phillips.
The first goal of the match came off the cleats of midfielder David Denis, who chipped a loose ball from outside the eighteen yard line going over the keeper’s head giving the Tigers the lead. After their goal, the Tigers set the pace of the game and dominated most of the rest of the match, but were unable to capitalize on their efforts.
During the second half, with only five minutes left of game time, Westover had a quick breakaway and scored a goal to tie the score at 1 to 1.
The Tigers will get back in action on September 11, in Lynchburg, against Liberty Christian.
