Jeremy Eubank

For the second year in a row the Tiger soccer team were awarded the National Ethics and Sportsmanship Team Award (Silver Level) by the United Soccer Coaches Association.

To qualify for certain levels of the award schools must:

  • Not have received any red cards at any time during the season.

  • Can accumulate a certain amount of yellow cards throughout the season. That number of yellow cards is then was divided by the number of games in the season (regular season and postseason combined).

On the season, the Tigers only received five yellow cards and zero red cards all season. Hargrave was the only school in the state of Virginia that earned this award. “Looking through the list of schools, we were the only from the state of Virginia, the only military school in the nation, and only one of 11 boys’ programs that earned the silver level of higher,” said Eubank.

“This speaks volumes of the character of our cadets and their on-the-field behavior,” stated head coach Jeremy Eubank. “To some this may be just another award, however to us as a school we talk about why character matters on a daily basis. To receive this award reinforces why we are a National School of Character.”
