Tigers beat Nelson County 27 to 7

The Tigers defeated Nelson County on Friday night by a score of 27 to 7.  The game started with a Nelson County drive that resulted in a touchdown, but after that the Tigers controlled the score the rest of the game.  The Tigers offense was hot in the first half.  Jason Fields connected with DaShawn Farmer for a 48 yard touchdown reception in the first quarter.  Ray Inge III followed up DaShawn’s touchdown with a 44 yard touchdown reception to starte the 2nd quarter.  Jason Fields ran in a 6 yard touchdown, then connected with DaShawn Farmer for the final touchdown on the day in the second quarter.  On the day the Tigers had over 350 yards offense.

The first half highlighted the offense of the Tigers, but the second half was owned by the Tigers defense.  Nelson County got in to the endzone only once on the day and that was the first drive of the game.  After that drive the defense threw a shutout.  The secondary of the Tigers were on display as they picked off 4 passes on the day.  DaShawn Farmer had two interceptions, and Jason Fields, and Trenton Lovelace added one each.  Stephen Chain led the team with 7 tackles on the day, and Ben Dorfman came up big with two sacks and 3 tackles on the day.
