Varsity Golf completed its 2013 season on Monday, May 13 with the VIC Conference Championships. Although somewhat breezy and cool, the weather beat our weather from last year – cold and rainy!
The Hargrave Tigers came in strong with Cadet Cole Ray tied for third place in the VIC Championships. Ray might still qualify for play at the State Tournament. Cole was also named to the VIC All-Conference team. Cadet Brett Manning, a late comer to the golf team, was named to the All-Conference 2nd Team.
As a team, we struggled though coming in 6th out of 11 teams. Covenant won the VIC and Carlisle School came in 2nd. Carlisle’s Wes Smith shot a 75 and Basil Boyd shot 78 to come in 1st and 2nd in the championship. Cole tied with Mason Schmidt from Blue Ridge school with a 79.
