Tigers Cruise in Military School Matchup

From start to finish, Hargrave made a statement. Jumping out to a 17-0 lead within the first two minutes of the game, the Tigers never looked back. Capped by a 33-2 second quarter, the haltime score favored the home team by a margin of 47 points. The stifling pressure of Hargrave’s defense continued throughout the game, en route to a 89-24 final score.

The Tigers saw meaningful contributions from all 15 players that dressed for the game. 11 of those players reached the scoring column, including four players scoring their first points of the season. While the Tigers had many solid performances, they were led by Jason Fields (26 points on 12/15 shooting) who electrified the gym with a series of high-flying dunks and Tyler Chisholm (21 points, 5-5 on 3-point attempts). Chisholm also paced Hargrave with 7 steals. Keon McIntosh (13 points, 5 rebounds) caused problems defensively with five steals, and Robert Tubbs added six assists on the evening.

Hargrave will look to keep the momentum rolling in a conference tilt against Roanoke Catholic on Thursday. The game will be played in Hargrave’s own Walter Davis Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30.
