Tigers Drop Nail-biter in Charlottesville

In a game of huge swings, the Hargrave Military Academy Tigers could not hold on. After limping out of the gate and trailing by as many as 14 early in the second quarter, the Tigers fought back valiantly. Coming out of halftime, Hargrave ratcheted up the defensive intensity and also began to find their shooting stroke.

The Tigers chipped away before claiming their first lead of the game late in the 4th quarter. Hargrave held a lead of 4 points going into the final minute, but timely foul shooting and some unfortunate Hargrave turnovers led to the 64-62 defeat.

Robert Tubbs continued his hot streak, hitting the 20 point milestone for the 4th straight game before fouling out early in the 4th quarter. Tyler Chisholm scored nine of his eleven points in the 4th quarter from beyond the arc. Both Tubbs and Chisholm recorded 5 assists on the afternoon.

Keon McIntosh logged 11 points and 10 rebounds for his 9th double-double of the season.

The Tigers return to action against crosstown arch-rival Chatham High School on Monday. Tip off in the Walter Davis Gymnasium is 5:30.
