Tigers Drop one to Miller School

Coach Oditt
The Varsity Baseball team lost to a well polished Miller School team Thursday 6-0 at Rodgers Fuller Field. Hargrave (2-1) played well against a Miller team that already has twelve games under their belt and is currently ranked second in the State Polls.

Spence Walker and Dennis Britton both had hits for your Tigers. Walker pitched seven innings of very good ball striking out two batters, walking four, allowing eight hits, six run and five of those being earned runs. Hargrave left seven runners on base and a few timely hits here and there we are right in the ballgame against the number two team in the State. Defensively, Mattox Lawson, Braden Barnett, and Nick Paul were making plays holding Miller in check for most of the game.

Overall, Hargrave playing just our third game of the season played an outstanding game against a really good team in Miller, a hit here and there and we are in the ball game with a chance to win. It was a learning curve for the guys to focus on what to expect from here on out against good ball clubs but the guys and coaches fully expect to learn from this game, gain the confidence and be prepared and ready to rock for games like this from here on out.
