Tigers Fall in Final Four

Hargrave could not overcome it’s slow start and lost a heartbreaker in the National Final Four, falling 86-82 to Northfield Mount Hermon. Northfield came out firing and built an early 18 point lead against the Tigers in the game’s opening minutes. Hargrave mounted a heroic comeback, led by 2-year captain Braxton Beverly, to erase the deficit and take a lead with 4:00 remaining in the game. Some timely shots and bounces went against the Tigers in the game’s final minutes, and Northfield was able to sneak away with a victory.

Braxton Beverly ended his Hargrave career with yet another huge performance, pouring in 29 points with 7 assists on 5-7 shooting from the 3pt line. Brandon Knapper also had a huge role in the comeback, scoring 23 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. Naji Marshall (13 points, 6 rebounds) also had solid game on the national spotlight.

Iran Bennett and Braxton Beverly, both two-year members of the team, ended their careers an eye-popping 90-3 at Hargrave, including this year’s final four appearance and last year’s National Championship.
