The Tigers opened their season today against Saint Anne’s Belfield Shcool with a hard fought 32-27 loss. STAB started off with a quick score only to be countered by Connor Rogers’ 59 yard touchdown reception from Darrell Smith. STAB answered with a long run, but again the Tigers answered when Darrell Smith hitting Connor Rogers on a 20 yard touchdown. The second quarter was controlled by STAB scoring two more touchdowns to go up 26-14 at halftime.
In the 3rd quarter, both teams were held scoreless, then the Tigers cut the lead to 6 on a Riggs Jordan 11 yard touchdown reception. STAB answered with a long run, but the Tigers continued to fight. Naheed John caught a 76 yard touchdown pass from Darrell Smith to cut the lead to 5. The Tigers failed to recover the ensuing onside kick to extend their chances of having a come from behind win.
Darrell Smith led the team offensively with 256 yards passing and 4 touchdown’s on the day. Darrell also had 74 yards rushing. Riggs Jordan registered 9 tackles for the game.
