Tigers Lasso Bull City

William Wiebking

At the Golden Corral Tip-off Classic on November 1, 2013, the Hargrave Postgraduate basketball team hosted Bull City from Durham, North Carolina. Bull City was defeated 125 to 94.

The game raised money for Scharlie Dillion. Shortly after her birth, Scharlie was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) and Type 1 Hypersensitivity Disease. As a result of having many complications, Scharlie had a feeding tube surgically implanted in 2011. The GJ tube bypasses her stomach and goes straight into her intestines. The doctors at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital started her on steroids in order to allow her to eat food and potentially aide her in gaining weight

Scharlie has to go to the Children’s Hospital every three months. During each visit, the doctor completes extensive tests and Botox injections into the stomach and intestines. Aside from Scharlie’s fixed appointments, she often has severe reactions causing the use of an EpiPen and a regular trips to the Emergency Room.
