Tigers Lose Second Heartbreaker To Blue Ridge

For the second time in as many games against Blue Ridge, the Tigers suffered a heartbreaking, last second defeat, falling 3-2 in double overtime.

In a game that was tight throughout, the Tigers caught a break in the 42nd minute to take a 1-0 lead by way of an own goal by Blue Ridge. Shortly after, Hargrave was able to keep the positive momentum going and extend the lead to 2-0 after a 58th minute goal by Chris Czarnecki. The score remained 2-0 heading into the last ten minutes of the game, when Blue Ridge snuck in two goals just before the end of regulation to force overtime.

It was much of the same in overtime, as both teams battled to a stalemate, with Blue Ridge able to capitalize with just seconds left to secure the 3-2 victory. Blue Ridge topped Hargrave earlier in the year on a penally kick goal with two minutes left in regulation.

Hargrave will look to get back on track on Monday September 21st as they take on Oak Ridge Military Academy in North Carolina in a Military School rivalry game. Kick-off is set for 4:30.
