The Hargrave Lacrosse team(4-3) lost their third game of the season on Tuesday as they went up against divisional power Covenant School(7-3) by a score of 21-1. While the score may not show it ,the level of effort and hustle by the Tigers remained constant and was at some of the highest levels all season long. Strong efforts were given by all as most the action of tuesday’s game would be in the midfield and defensive zones. The Eagles of Covenant had a strong, fast and well balanced offensive attack which tested the Hargrave defense all day long. Tigers Goalie Adrian Roman had a strong game in net as he turned away 24 of 45 scoring attempts by the Eagles. With his effort in net Roman has tied the school record previously held by 2009 goaltender Stefan Taylor with 24 saves in a single game. Strong performances were given by Midfielders Stephen Chain, Tobi Bamisaiye, Nick Zechini and Zdenek Sindelar. Sindelar would have the Tigers lone goal with Michael Sullivan getting credit for the assist. Defensively Russell Ferguson played a solid game alongside Nick Foster and Zack King.
The Tigers will travel to Blue Ridge next to take on the Top ranked Barons in a Conference match-up. Game time is set for 4:00.
