The Tigers took on George Washington for the first game of the year. The Tigers lost by a score of 14 to 11. Our fighting Tigers suffered from some first game jitters in the first inning but settled in during the rest of the game. After allowing 7 runs in the first inning, we allowed only 7 runs during the next 6 innings.
Our great pitching was led by Caleb Flores. He allowed one earned run and struck out 8 in 3 innings. Hanson Elkins and Austin Samson both pitched 2 solid innings with Hanson striking out 4 and Austin striking out 2.
On offense, we were led by Sadat Slade, Caleb Flores, and Harry Crosby all collecting 2 hits and producing multiple runs.
We will be regrouping and getting ready to take on Carlisle on Tuesday, April 8th. Please congratulate the tigers on a game well played.
