Tuesday afternoon provided a test for the Hargrave Tigers Varsity Soccer Team. They traveled to Roanoke, VA to test the #2 ranked North Cross Raiders at 4:30.
North Cross possessed the ball extremely well, but Hargrave’s players still were able to create opportunities in the first half. The Raiders finished 2 quick goals at 32 and 22 minutes and at halftime the score was 0-2 in North Cross’ favor.
The second half proved further possession from North Cross and they put away 2 more goals on a penalty kick and a far post finish. Henry Averett finished the match with 10 saves in the net.
Despite the final score at 0-4 in North Cross’ favor, the growth of Hargrave is still continuing in a positive direction. Players are connecting passes well and meshing together to possess and play simply for a more exciting game to watch.
