Tigers Lose to Strong Carlisle team

Hargrave played their 4th game out of 6 school days on Monday against Carlisle School out of Martinsville. Carlisle’s storied history of strong teams, and their #1 ranking in Virginia’s state soccer polls proved to be too much for Hargrave’s hard-working defense. Carlisle’s one and two-touch passing and connectivity proved to be effective and they finished 8 of their shots that game with a final score of 0-8 in Carlisle’s favor.

Despite the seeming one-sided nature of the game, Hargrave still had opportunities to possess the ball and progress to Carlisle’s final third of the pitch. Although they took a beating, Hargrave still had 9 shots on goal. Large contributors were Seth Donaldson, a junior who as moved to the offensive third of the field for this match. Also, Raines Wall who continued to progress in his creativity offensively from the outside mid role. And finally, Jackson Miller played well on the outside left defender role. Henry Averett had an astounding 17 saves in net.
