Hargrave faced stiff competition from public and private schools at the Knights Crossing Invitational. With only five practices under our belts, the Tigers are slowly improving. In the varsity race, Hargrave placed sixteenth out of twenty schools. Veteran Cadet Emmanuel Clark lead the scoring. Surprise newcomer Cadet Mitchell Baker placed second for the Tigers, followed by another newcomer Cadet Zach Bunner. Second year man Cadet Timothy Le placed fourth, followed by newcomer Cadet Russell Davis. Cadets Joel Corpening and Daniel Koenig rounded out the field for Hargrave.
In the Junior Varsity race Hargrave placed last out of fourteen schools. The bright spot was that all of the runners had improved times over their practice runs. Cadet Mengchu Zhao led the scoring, followed by Cadet Edward Hoyas. Cadet Nick Whitlock placed third, followed by Cadets Saul Snell and Wei An Chen. The following Cadets rounded out the field for Hargrave. They include Cadets Junghyun You, Virgil Liedy, Dave Price and Shijie Yang.
Come and support the Tigers this Wednesday as they participate in the Dogwood district shootout against the local public high schools. The race is hosted by Chatham High school, but is run at Chatham Hall.
